Schroeder Family hosts Governor Mitch Daniels

Indiana Governor Daniels recently visited the area, and spent the night in the home of the Mark & Rebecca Schroeder Family. Rebecca is the President of Whiteshire Hamroc, and her husband Mark is the Transportation Director.

Partnership with China's Tangrenshen Group

Whiteshire Hamroc is pleased to announce a joint venture with Tangrenshen, an integrated pork company in Hunan Province, China. Whiteshire Hamroc will provide technologies crucial to a successful production system including swine genetics, building systems, and production protocols to it's Chinese partner beginning this spring.

Whiteshire Hamroc and Tempel Genetics Discuss Progress in 2008

On March 5, 2008, Whiteshire Hamroc and Tempel Genetics hosted two producer meetings (one in Wabash and the other in Bloomington, Indiana). During these meetings producers heard how both swine genetic companies are working together to improve genetics, how we are both using gene markers to compliment our B.U.L.P. selection indexes.

Additionally, we had guest speakers from Elanco Animal Health and Commodity & Ingredients Hedging (CIH). Elanco shared with producers different feeding strategies for Paylean and how it can help impact their bottom line. They also shared with the groups recommended animal handling methods which will assist in reducing penalties/discounts that normally occur during transporting to market.

CIH shared with the groups different risk management strategies that can be used to control input costs and marketing prices. They fielded several questions from the audiences which addressed both grain outlook and different risk exposure plans.

Waldo-Whiteshire to export boars to Korea

During the 2007 World Pork Expo, Waldo Farms, Inc. and Whiteshire Hamroc LLC signed an agreement with Dodram of South Korea to supply hundreds of purebred boars over the next several months.
